Two district judge candidates running unopposed in NELA

MONROE, La. (KNOE) - Two candidates running for district judge seats in Northeast Louisiana are running unopposed in the upcoming Oct. 9, 2021, election.

Monique Babin Clement, of Ruston, is running for District Judge 3rd Judicial District Court, Div. A. The Republican is the only candidate who filed and qualified, according to the Louisiana Secretary of State’s Office.

Likewise unopposed is Frederick “Fred” Jones. He is running for District Judge 4th Judicial District Court, ES 1, Div. G.

The 3rd Judicial District serves Union and Lincoln parishes with seats based in Farmerville and Ruston, respectively. The Division A seat is currently vacant but has a Pro Tempore judge assigned to it.

The 4th Judicial District serves Ouachita and Morehouse parishes with seats based in Monroe and Bastrop, respectively.
