WEST MONROE, La. (KNOE) - A community painting project was held in West Monroe on Tuesday, July 13. Volunteers met at Brady Fields to freshen up the appearance of the ballparks.

Ouachita Green, Keep West Monroe Beautiful, the Salvation Army and the City of West Monroe all worked together to put on this event.

People repainted and touched up the bleachers and backstops to their original navy color.

Ouachita Green Director Aundi Brown says this was a need brought to her attention.

“We had some members of the community reach out, and they’d noticed that the paints were chipped here at Brady Fields, and this is a big community resource. There are a lot of baseball, softball teams, kids who come out, and families. We thought that we’d step in and put together a community painting project. The City of West Monroe is providing the paint for us. We’re going to get this done and make our city a little more beautiful,” Brown said.

Brown says it’s important for the ballparks to look nice and well maintained when people bring their families.
