MONROE, La. (KNOE) -The Monroe Housing Authority is providing free COVID-19 vaccines at events citywide.

They have partnered with the Louisiana Department of Health and U.S. Department of Housing to make sure that people have little excuse not to get the vaccine.

The director of the Monroe Housing Authority, William Smart, said that people have the option to get either the Pfizer or Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

He also said that the department wants to make sure that these communities have the opportunity to get the vaccine and answer any questions people might have.

“The efforts are to sleeve up, sleeve up back again, Louisiana, Smart said. “What those efforts I think that we can be in here today, we’re encouraging. We’re trying to break any barriers to allow our community to get those shots. We’re removing barriers, any health disparities that will prevent them from probably getting the COVID-19 shot we have in the free vaccination shot here today.”

Here are the locations and times of the vaccination events throughout the city.
