MONROE, La. (KNOE) - A new business is about to open its doors in Downtown West Monroe, commonly known as Antique Alley.

The Flying Heart Brewing & Pub is opening on June 26, 2021, at 11 a.m. on Commerce Street. Mayor Staci Mitchell said the brewery is not only great for the economy but also, the nightlife in West Monroe. She said with all of the recent efforts going into downtown, it’s good to see a new business opening up.

Mayor Mitchell said this new business will be the anchor for future nightlife and other businesses looking to move to the downtown area. Co-owner Ben Patillo said it was love at first sight when his team was looking for a new location for the brewery.

“We really like the downtown area of West Monroe, so we were sold with the crowds that were already down here, the shops, everybody was super nice,” said Patillo.

“We will have more nightlife. It’s going to spark other development in the area and see this area continue to grow and just be a busy hustling bustling place,” said West Monroe Mayor Staci Mitchell.

Mayor Mitchell said the new brewery is like a recruitment tool for people looking to host events in West Monroe, like sports games and conferences. She said the brewery gives people more things to do while they’re in town.

The brewery will feature its own and regional craft beers and a full food menu.
