UPDATE: OPSO deputies are currently searching for a suspect vehicle. They say the vehicle is a light-colored Chevy SUV with a luggage rack, most likely a Tahoe. The vehicle was occupied by four persons and last seen headed west on Standifer, authorities say.

OUACHITA PARISH, La. (KNOE) - Authorities are currently investigating a shooting that happened on June 19, 2021, at around 3:44 p.m.

According to the Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office, the shooting happened on the 1700 block of Standifer Avenue in Monroe.

They say two people were shot and are being treated at the hospital.

According to the Richwood High School football coach, the victims are former players.

The Monroe Police Department is investigating the shooting death of a former RHS quarterback, 18-year-old Michael Sherman. Authorities say he was shot in the chest Friday night on Wilton Dr. He died at a local hospital.
