Adopt a Pet: Pilgrim!
MONROE, La. (KNOE) - We’re back at the Ouachita Parish Animal Shelter in our Adopt a Pet segment this week meeting Pilgrim.
“He actually belonged to an elderly woman and he got to be too much. He was a fall danger, basically,” explains Kim Tumlison with the shelter. “He’s very sweet. He is a big pup, about seven months old. And he’s not neutered yet, but he will be on adoption [….] but I think he would be a good pet for somebody that has a yard. And maybe some kids, somebody to throw a ball for him to play with.”
The shelter is doing adoptions between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
“We recommend that if you do have another animal that you bring it to meet the new dog, just because it’s better for them to meet somewhere else first, and then go to their home, so it’s not like a strange dog just showed up at their house,” says Tumlison.
And if he is adopted by the time you visit the shelter, there are so many other great cats, dogs, and even livestock available there. You can look at petango.com to see every animal at the shelter before you go.
If you are interested in volunteering or fostering, you can just call the shelter at (318) 323-4032.
They also have some positions open at the shelter, if you would like to apply click here.
