MONROE, La. (KNOE) - We’re back at the Ouachita Parish Animal Shelter meeting Tootie. She’s about a year old and a very sweet pup.

“She came in as a stray and wasn’t claimed,” says Kim Tumlison with the shelter. “She did go to an event at ULM with some dogs and got to hang out and meet some people and they said she did really well out there.”

“Her adoption fee would be $80 cash, that includes her spay, rabies, microchip, initial vaccines, and wormer. She’s on row two, her name’s Tootie, so if you ask for Tootie we’ll know who you’re talking about,” says Tumlison.

And if she is adopted by the time you visit the shelter, there are so many other great cats, dogs, and even livestock available there. You can look at to see every animal at the shelter before you go.

The shelter is doing adoptions between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Monday through Friday.

If you are interested in volunteering or fostering, you can just call the shelter at (318) 323-4032.

They also have some positions open at the shelter, if you would like to apply click here.
