Oak Grove man accused of cruelty to a juvenile

WEST CARROLL PARISH, La. (KNOE) - Authorities have arrested a man from Oak Grove accused of cruelty to a juvenile. The incident happened in April 2021.

According to the Louisiana State Police, they were requested by the West Carroll Parish Sheriff’s Office to investigate a complaint of child abuse. Investigators were able to interview the suspect, 21-year-old Caleb Bowden, and determined that he violently shook an infant.

LSP says evidenced showed the infant suffered serious injuries and was admitted to a hospital. They say Bowden was arrested charged with 2nd-degree cruelty to a juvenile and was booked into Ouachita Correctional Center as a fugitive from justice on the charges stemming from the West Carroll Parish investigation.

His bond was set at $100,000.00.
