Have problems with a new vehicle? The BBB can help
MONROE, La. (KNOE) - If you have issues with a brand new vehicle, the Better Business Bureau may be able to help. Their Auto Line program is meant to mediate issues between the buyer and the manufacturer directly.
“This takes the dealership out of the negotiation and allows the manufacturer to deal directly with the consumer,” explains Jo-Ann Deal with the BBB of Northeast Louisiana. “And, as you can tell, this is an advantage for you. You’re dealing directly with a representative who will set up negotiations to offer you what you need whether you need the parts replaced or you need a new vehicle.”
Using this service is free, and you can fill out a complaint form here.
Deal says the national office will deal with complaints and arbitration, but she says the local BBB office will help host hearings if needed. When you go to file a complaint, you will need to have some paperwork with you.
“The most important information is your vehicle identification number or VIN, always make sure you have the documents regarding the purchase of your car as well as preparing detailed maintenance descriptions and cost and dates so that the material is ready to be processed,” says Deal.
You can reach out to the BBB of Northeast Louisiana at (318) 387-4600.
