Monroe police make arrest in fatal shooting on South 8th Street

MONROE, La. (KNOE) - Authorities have made an arrest in the Feb. 26, 2021 homicide of Reginald Copning.

According to the Monroe Police Department, detectives were able to establish 32-year-old Teddrick Jones as the suspect in the shooting that happened on the 1200 block of South 8th Street in Monroe.

Detectives say on April 20, 2021, shortly before 10:00 a.m., they got information that Jones was staying at a hotel on Desiard Street. They say officers went to the hotel and were able to locate Jones in a room.

He was taken into custody without incident and later booked at the Ouachita Correctional Center on the charges of 2nd-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted Felon.
