West Monroe woman accused of beating child who refused to clean car and multiple acts of molestation
WEST MONROE, La. (KNOE) - Authorities have arrested a West Monroe woman accused of over a dozen instances of child abuse, including sexual molestation and physical beatings.
According to court records, officers with the West Monroe Police Department met with the complainant on Feb. 10, 2021.
Police say 53-year-old Melissa Eves was named as the accused in this case.
According to the report, the child said Eves “roughed her up” in the past for refusing to clean her car. They say the child also reported forced sexual activity with the suspect. Records state that the child told police she was sexually abused at least nine times. The physical abuse is said to have occurred five to seven times over the last two years.
The abuse is said to have taken place at a North 8th Street residence where the child would sometimes stay the night. The document alleges that Eves threatened to kill the child’s siblings if the child told anyone about the abuse.
On. Feb. 23, Eves was booked into the Ouachita Correctional Center on charges of molestation of a juvenile and cruelty to a juvenile.
