Ouachita Parish mobile food distribution on Monday, Feb. 22
MONROE, La. (KNOE) - The Food Bank of Northeast Louisiana and City of Monroe are hosting a mobile food distribution on Monday, Feb. 22 for all residents of Ouachita Parish.
The distribution will be held at the Monroe Civic Center from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. or until supplies run out.
Residents can drive to the Monroe Civic Center, roll through the drive-thru line and food will be loaded into cars.
Each vehicle will receive a box of perishable food including some produce, dairy and meat. They will also give out cases of water.
Sarah Hoffman, Director of Development, with the Food Bank of Northeast Louisiana says they hope this distribution will help people get back to where they were before the storm.
“The winter storm really affected a lot of people in our community who maybe had their kids home all week long and went through all of the food in their pantries and refrigerators. They might not have the resources to go to the store and restock,” Hoffman said.
If you need food but can’t make it, the link below will show a full list of distribution sites in Northeast Louisiana.
