LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - Girl Scout Cookie season is officially here.

You may be used to grabbing your favorite box outside of your local grocery store, but this year you may have to make other arrangements.

With the onset of COVID-19, Girl Scouts of Louisiana-Pines to the Gulf have altered their methods of delivery to ensure they are following social distancing, contact-free guidelines, aimed at keeping their costumers safe.

Customers are able to support their local Girl Scouts by purchasing Thin Mints, Tagalongs, Trefoils, and several different options in a safer way:

- If you personally know a girl scout, contact her and find out what she is personally doing to make sure she meets local and state protocols.

- If you don’t know a Girl Scout, visit, text COOKIES to 59618, or download the Girl Scout Cookie Finder app to see if their is a safe, contact-free cookie booth available in your area.

- Starting Feb. 1, head over to and type in your zip code in the viewfinder to purchase from a local Girl Scout troop online for shipment to your door or to donate cookies to first responders and local causes.

Girl Scout cookies will be available for purchase until March 6.
