Bank account set up for woman who lost her home in fire
MONROE, La. (KNOE) -A special bank account has been set up for a Bastrop woman who lost her home in a fire on December 1st.
Lora Jacksons’ home burned down just weeks after discovering that she had been diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer.
Lora Jacksons’ Pastor Jesse Walker set up the account on behalf of the family at the Hodge Bank in Jonesboro, Louisiana. The bank account is set up so that people in the community who want to help her have somewhere secure to donate.
Pastor Jesse Walker says that now more than ever, the community needs to pull together in support of one another.
“Truly often time its a time of crisis when we see the love of food is spread abroad in the community since were in the holiday season were asking the community far and near to be a blessing to the family. "
Lora Jackson’s 13-year-old granddaughter also lived with her at the home.
