RICHLAND PARISH, La. (KNOE) - Authorities say a multiple vehicle crash in Richland parish has left two people dead.

According to the Louisiana State Police, a vehicle driven by 21-year-old Francisco Tomas-Jose of Fort Payne, Alabama was traveling northbound on Louisiana Highway 133 when it failed to stop at the flashing red light at the intersection of Highway 133 and Louisiana Highway 15.

Police say this caused Tomas-Jose vehicle to go into the path of an eastbound truck which resulted in a crash. They say Tomas-Jose sustained minor injuries but two passengers that were with him died. The passengers were identified as 36-year-old Maria Joe-Pedro and 18-year-old Eulalia Tomas-Andres.

The driver of the truck sustained minor injuries. The crash remains under investigation.
