MONROE, La. (KNOE) - The University of Louisiana at Monroe says they’ve suspended all football-related activity after a few Athletics Department administrative staff members tested positive for COVID-19.
They say the move was made “out of extreme caution.”
This has led to the cancellation of head coach Matt Viator’s weekly press conference, scheduled for 11:30 a.m. Monday.
A new round of COVID tests for football student-athletes, coaching staff and some support personnel has been scheduled for Monday morning. The team hopes to safely resume football-related activities as soon as test results are received as early as Tuesday afternoon/evening.
