“We’ve lost so many lives”: Ouachita Parish official reacts to recent shooting at Parkview Apartments
MONROE, La. (KNOE) - Monroe Police are currently investigating a shooting at Parkview Apartment complex. Since June, multiple shootings have occurred at the complex and one Ouachita Parish official is calling for an end to gun violence.
Police say a man was shot in his back Saturday night. Authorities say he was flown to Shreveport for treatment.
Ouachita Parish Police Jury member Lonnie Hudson says the violence in the complex isn’t new and people need to put down the guns and lead by example.
“I plead to the young folks in this community, remember a lot of parents and a lot of families are hurting due to the fact that we lost so many lives to senseless gun violence," said Hudson, Ouachita Parish Police Jury District F juror.
The shooting is under investigation.
