LaSalle man killed in deputy-involved shooting

LASALLE PARISH La. (KNOE) - Louisiana State Police say they are investigating a deputy-involved shooting that happened Thursday night in LaSalle Parish.

The shooting was in the Whitehall community and involved a deputy with the LaSalle Parish Sheriff’s Office.

According to state police, LPSO had secured a domestic violence felony warrant for 29-year-old Jessie A. Hudnall of Whitehall. As deputies attempted to serve the warrant, Hudnall fled to a residence in Whitehall and barricaded himself inside. During the course of the interaction, Hudnall and deputies exchanged gunfire. Hudnall was shot and pronounced dead at a hospital.

One deputy sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital.

The investigation continues.
