MONROE, La. (KNOE) - Authorities in West Monroe say they are investigating a burglary in which a resident was shot.

According to West Monroe police, it happened on Sept. 18 before 2 a.m. in the 300 block of Splane Drive.

They say the resident who was shot was able to call 911 to report the crime. The victim was air-lifted to a hospital in Alexandria for treatment.

Police say the victim is in stable condition. They were able to interview the victim and develop a suspect, who has been contacted by detectives.

The name of that suspect is being withheld at this time due to the on-going investigation, police say.
