2-year-old found dead after Lincoln Parish house fire

CHOUDRANT, La. (KNOE) - A house fire appears to have claimed the life of a young child in Lincoln Parish.

According to the state fire marshal’s office, the fire happened in Choudrant overnight. Firefighters responded to a home in 700 block of Highway 821 around 3 a.m.

Officials say an adult was able to escape the fire unharmed, but another suffered severe burns and was taken to the hospital.

The body of a 2-year-old boy was later found inside.

The state fire marshal’s office says more information will be released as it becomes available.
