OUACHITA PARISH, La. (KNOE) - A Ouachita Parish woman is accused of shooting a man during a domestic dispute at her home.

According to a court affidavit, the shooting happened Aug. 12 in the 3800 block of Old Sterlington Road.

Investigators said Marion Hobbs, 33, and the victim got into an argument, eventually exchanging physical blows. At some point, Hobbs became armed with a handgun. She told investigators that she shot the victim after he refused her multiple demands to leave.

Authorities say he was shot in the midsection and was airlifted to a hospital for treatment.

Investigators said a subsequent search of her phone revealed text messages between the two, in which threatening messages were sent by Hobbs.

Hobbs was booked into the Ouachita Correctional Center on a charge of attempted second-degree murder.
