RUSTON, La. (KNOE) - The Louisiana Department of Health said on Friday that a restaurant in Ruston has been temporarily shut down for COVID-19 violations.

LDH identified the offender as Peking Buffet at 1300 North Vienna Street. They said Peking excessively failed to comply with the governor’s order intended to slow the spread of COVID-19. LDH said the most recent violation was found on Aug. 12 where Peking again violated an order prohibiting self-service buffets.

As a result, LDH obtained a restraining order that prohibits the restaurant from operating until further order of the court.

A Preliminary Injunction hearing is scheduled for August 21, 2020.
