MADISON PARISH, La. (KNOE) - Louisiana State Police say they have located a female body in Madison Parish.

A state police spokesperson said the body was found last night. Police said they were not able to officially confirm the person’s identity, as they are awaiting an autopsy and positive identification. No other details were released regarding the discovery. LSP worked with the Madison Parish Sheriff’s Office and Tallulah PD. According to LSP, this is an active investigation.

The news comes just days after a woman was reported missing in Madison Parish. Family members told KNOE they were searching for Pamela Oliver, who they said was last seen on Aug. 7.

KNOE spoke with Pamela Oliver’s mother this morning. She said that it was her daughter’s body that was found.

Oliver’s sister, Latrice Williams, said she was told by the Madison Parish Sheriff’s Office the body appeared to belong to Pamela. When asked for details, a spokesperson for the sheriff’s office said we would need to refer to LSP for details regarding the case.

Oliver's family believes foul play was involved, and they're looking for justice.

"I just want justice served for my sister because she didn't deserve to die. Like, what she did that was so bad? What did she do?" asked Oliver's sister, Rose Williams.

They said Pamela Oliver was a married mother of three.

"How can you take a mother away from her kids? To see her kids cry...." said Rose.

Her family said they're going to remember Pamela as someone who was always smiling.

“Down to earth, sweet, always smiling, always joking type of person,” said Rose.

“Funny,” added Latrice.

Her family said they know Oliver was fighting.

”Because, us as a mother, we are going to say and do whatever it is to come home to our kids,” said Rose.

They want closure and justice for a family member who they said didn’t deserve to die.

”That was my best friend. What do we do now?” said Rose.

”How are we supposed to do it without her? How are we going to do it without her?” said Latrice.

The family is asking anyone with information to come forward.

KNOE will have more information as it becomes available.
