ULM seeking adjunct professors
MONROE, La. (KNOE) -ULM is hiring adjunct professors to keep up with increasing enrollment for fall 2020. It has seen its highest graduate enrollment in over 35 years.
To teach an undergraduate class, interested applicants must have a master’s degree. They are also required to have an additional 18 hours above their masters to qualify. Interviews will be conducted via zoom.
Vice President of Academic Affairs Alberto Ruiz said bracing for a new normal this fall will be a challenge, but they are ready.
“I think ULM will become a better university as a result of that. This community will become a better community as a result of that. We’ll take the bumps and bruises, but in the long run, we’re gonna come out in a lot better shape,” said Ruiz.
They are currently seeking instructors for English, math, history, biology, and communications. Applications are being reviewed on a rolling basis.
Teachers will be expected to adjust to a hybrid teaching method. Some classes will be taught online and others will be in person.
“Our faculty are eager. Our brand new faculty that are here on campus are eager, eager to go,” said Ruiz.
Interested candidates should send a cover letter, resume, and unofficial transcript to Dr. Judy Fellows at email@example.com.
