Ruston man killed in Lincoln Parish shooting

LINCOLN PARISH, La. (KNOE) - An early Sunday morning shooting in Lincoln Parish has left one man dead.

According to the Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Office, the shooting occurred in the 400 block of Hwy 146 in Ruston.

Deputies say they were dispatched to a loud party shortly before 1 a.m. Upon arrival, they discovered a large crowd of people and more than 100 vehicles parked along the road.

They say while people were leaving the scene, deputies heard a single gunshot. Moments later, 24-year-old Peter Guy approached deputies saying he had been shot.

Deputies say they immediately began administering aid to the individual and awaited the arrival of Ruston Ambulance Service.

Guy was transported to the Northern Louisiana Medical Center where he later died.
