The St. Francis Foundation’s 2 Cars 2 Winners Raffle kicks off for 2020
MONROE, La. (KNOE) - We are kicking off our 2 Cars 2 Winners Raffle Monday, August 3rd! Now more than ever, St. Francis Medical Center says it’s important to give back to the hospitals so they can continue taking care of the community.
Last year, Christian Creed started the Early Bird Special with an extra chance to win $1,000, but this year they’re upping that prize.
“We’ve had a successful campaign in the last two years, every year it gets better and better,” says Christian Creed. “So we’re happy to be here today to kick off the campaign and hopefully this year will be the best.”
The Early Bird Prize drawing will be August 20th at 6 pm.
The funds raised from the raffle benefit the St. Francis Foundation so they can continue to enhance services at the NICU, PICU, and Critical Care Services at the hospital.
“Cathy and I have two children,” says Creed. “Thankfully, they’re healthy. A lot of parents aren’t as fortunate and that’s where you know having this NICU is so great.”
During the coronavirus pandemic, the funds are more important now than ever.
“What a great opportunity for us to work with the community to raise such needed funds to help do improvements at St. Francis Medical Center,” says St. Francis Medical Center President Kristin Wolkart.
“So our foundation really supports Women’s and Children’s services as well as some of the other critical needs in our organization. Over the last several years, our foundation has been able to donate back so much money for us to be able to do new things like our brand new helicopter pad that just opened up. We did a 10 bed ICU expansion with COVID, which everybody’s tired of talking about, but had we not been able to invest those funds into our organization, there were a lot of patients in our community that might not receive the care they needed right here at St. Francis.”
Aimee Kane is the St. Francis Foundation President and has been able to see how much these raffle funds have helped over the past few years.
“I look at our hospital and it is a community hospital. It’s your hospital. You know, we are mission-based, you are the shareholders of this facility,” says Kane.
“You are the ones that directly benefit from every service, and every dollar that comes into here enhances the services that we offer at St. Francis. So without our community, St. Francis would actually not be here. We just celebrated our 107th anniversary.”
Every Thursday at 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. for the next few weeks, we’ll showcase how the hospital is continuing to provide great care during the pandemic and what services some of the raffle funds have gone toward.
The prize for the raffle is a 2020 Nissan Titan Pro 4X or a 2020 Toyota 4Runner Limited.
Tickets are $50 and you can buy them on the St. Francis Foundation’s website.
On August 19th, you’ll be able to buy tickets at Creed & Creed Law offices, Sparks Nissan, Van Trow Toyota, all drive-thru locations of Ouachita Valley Federal Credit Union, and the St. Francis Medical Office Building in Ruston.
