MONROE, La. (KNOE) - A man is accused of threatening to shoot a co-worker and his boss just after beginning his new job.

According to an arrest report, it happened at a West Monroe business in the 500 block of Downing Pines on July 28, 2020.

The report states that police were called around 2:56 p.m. regarding Xavier Nigel Preston, 27, who had started working at 1:00 p.m.

Plant management told police Preston pulled a gun on the person that was training him. They reported that Preston threatened to shoot the co-worker and his boss because they were talking about him. Management told police they evacuated and locked down all the buildings at the plant for safety.

Police say they found Preston at his work station. Police did not find a firearm, but the report states that Preston admitted to having a pistol and pointing it at the co-worker. Police say Preston would not tell them where he hid the gun.

Preston was booked into the Ouachita Correctional Center on charges of terrorizing and aggravated assault.
