MONROE, La. (KNOE) - Monroe Fire Department responded to a fire at the Windsor Inn on Washington Street on Saturday.

MFD Public Information Officer Antonio Smith says they received the call at 5:26 p.m. The first crews arrived six minutes later. Smith says about 11 or 12 apartment units have sustained fire, smoke or water damage or a combination of the three.

He says every unit was occupied, and no injuries were reported. Fire investigators are also on the scene.

“It’s going to be a process before he’s able to get in here to comb through some of the debris and try to figure out a determination of the structure fire,” Smith said.

Crews will be on scene throughout the night to make sure the fire is fully extinguished. The American Red Cross is also on the scene to help residents with temporary housing and aid.
