MONROE, La. (KNOE) - Authorities have arrested a Ouachita Parish man accused of shipping marijuana via the United States Postal Service.

According to court records, Michael David Rodgers, 45, was arrested after a yearlong investigation that started in May of 2019.

That's when Metro Narcotics agents say they were notified by a federal postal inspector that suspicious parcels were being delivered from California to multiple addresses in Ouachita Parish. Records indicate a subsequent investigation led to the seizure of 7 pounds of marijuana.

In February 2020, authorities say they seized a package of marijuana that had just been shipped through the mail. Authorities say video from the originating post office showed Rodgers shipping the package.

Rodgers was arrested in July 2020 and booked on a charge of possession of CDS schedule 1 with intent to distribute.
