Office of Motor Vehicles in Monroe closed due to COVID-19 case

MONROE, La. (KNOE) - State officials say four additional Louisiana Office of Motor Vehicles locations will be temporarily closed starting Monday, July 6, 2020.

They say locations in Monroe, Alexandria, Lafayette, and Shreveport will be closed to the public after an OMV employee tested positive for COVID-19. They say the employee served in an administrative role at several locations and did not have interactions with the public.

Customers can still access the OMV website at for available online services such as driver license renewals, identification card renewals, official driving records, and duplicate registrations.

Residents in need of license reinstatement will have to contact the OMV via phone at 225-925-6146 (option 3), by mail (PO Box 64886, Baton Rouge, LA 70896), or visit a Public Tag Agency.
