One person found dead in Delhi, state police say
DELHI, La. (KNOE) - One person was found dead in Delhi on Wednesday, according to state police.
State police have identified the man as 46-year-old Buford Dean Junior of Delhi and this case is being considered a homicide investigation. They are not currently releasing the cause of death; however, Louisiana State Police Public Information Officer Brent Hardy said they don’t believe there is any threat or danger to the public at this time.
According to Delhi police, the body was found around seven in the morning near Martin Luther King Dr and May St.
Delhi City Councilman Larry Rancher said the community was shocked.
“These people in Delhi, we’re a close-knit family. And most people know each other, and most people know what’s going on. So the thing is that, with our Sheriff department and our town police department, I feel this thing will come to an end really quickly,” he said.
Louisiana State Police are working on the case with the Richland Parish Sheriff’s Office and the Delhi Police Department.
