UPDATE:

OAK GROVE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - It sounds like a plot from a movie, bank robbers wanted in multiple states and arrested in small town America. But that is exactly what happened in West Carroll Parish on Tuesday afternoon.

Pioneer Police Chief Jamie Wallis calls these two, April Elizabeth Johnson and Jonathan James Johnson the modern day version of Bonnie and Clyde.

Wallis said he was contacted by a law enforcement agency in Arkansas to be on the lookout for the pair. They were wanted for robbing a bank.

Wallis said he spotted their vehicle on Louisiana Highway 17 and tried to pull them over.

"The chase began. Myself, along with David Voigt with the West Carroll Sheriff's Office and Mike Henderson with Oak Grove Police Department, gave chase," Wallis said.

"They reached approximately 90 miles an hour. We traveled approximately 25 miles before they exited highway 585 onto Henry Jones Road," Voigt said.

Law enforcement said the pair finally gave up and pulled over, where they were arrested without incident."

"The Arkansas State Police interviewed the female first, and she basically not only admitted to the Chicot County bank being robbed, but the three other ones,” Wallis said.

Wallis said April has a lengthy criminal record. She claims to have spent 5 years in federal prison for robbing banks.

On the other hand, Wallis said this was her husband's first major brush with the law.

"I feel like she was the master mind in all of it," Wallis said.

Wallis wouldn't give many details about how the pair robbed the banks, but he did say the robbery  in Arkansas did not involve a weapon, only a note

The case is now being investigated by the FBI.
