UPDATE: Missing elderly man found near home in Jackson Parish

JONESBORO, La. (KNOE 8 News) - A missing elderly man from Jackson Parish was found safe Saturday morning.

Waylon Peevy, 88, went missing from his home on Rome Road around 7 a.m. Friday. The search started when he was reported missing around noon.

After scouring the woods near his home, and draining the pond on Peevy's property, he was found Saturday morning.  Peevy was just three miles from his home. Sheriff Andy Brown says Peevy seemed to be in good health but was transported to a Jackson Parish hospital for evaluation.

JONESBORO, La. (KNOE 8 News) - The Jackson Parish Sheriff's Office is asking for your help in locating a missing elderly man.

We're told 88-year-old Waylon Peevy was last seen around 7:00 a.m. off Rome Road in Jackson Parish.

He's a white male wearing a green sweatshirt, black pants, rubber boots and a straw hat.
