Former corrections supervisor accused of inappropriate behavior with inmate

NATCHITOCHES PARISH, La. (KNOE 8 News & NPSO) - A Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Correctional Officer has been arrested and terminated in connection with an alleged inappropriate behavior with a female inmate

Natchitoches Parish Sheriff Victor Jones Jr. says on Friday July 4th, deputies received a complaint from a female inmate housed at the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center reporting that a Correctional Officer allegedly sexually assaulted her.

Assistant Chief of NPSO Criminal Investigations Detective Reginald Turner began investigating the allegations on Friday and during the course of the investigation obtained sufficient evidence and probable cause to obtain criminal arrest warrants signed by a Tenth Judicial District Court Judge according to Chief Investigator Greg Dunn.

On Tuesday evening at approximately 5:02pm, detectives arrested:

Lindsey Webster Hoke, 28 of the 1700 block of Harmony Road, Provencal, La., booked into the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center charged with 1-count of Forcible Rape, and 3-counts of Malfeasance in Office; Sexual Conduct Prohibited with Persons in Custody.

No bond has been set.

Hoke had been employed as a Correctional Officer at the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center since 2008 and recently been promoted to a supervisory position according to Chief of Corrections Deputy Calvin McFerrin.

Detectives say the investigation is continuing.

Sheriff Jones stated “We hold each and everyone of our employees at a very high standard of professionalism, and integrity”. As Sheriff, “It is mandatory that all deputies obey the oath of office, state law, ethics, and standard operating procedures of the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office, I will not tolerate this type of behavior when a deputy decides to abuse his authority and responsibility to serve the people of Natchitoches Parish”.
