GRAMBLING, La. (KNOE 8 News)- Big moves at Grambling State.

The University of Louisiana System appointed Cynthia Warrick as Interim President last week.

During her first two days in office, she has made some major decisions.

Warrick has fired athletic director, Aaron James and the head basketball coach.

Today we learned director of media relations, Will Sutton, has been relieved of his duties.

The interim president did release this statement.

"My primary focus as interim president is to move Grambling State University to a competitive position of excellence at every level. I have started the process of making several strategic changes in my administrative team, which is a customary practice in transitions such as this. The significant challenges facing Grambling make these decisions even more important, and I am committed to assembling the best talent possible in order to move the university forward."

Warrick recently denied our request for an on camera interview.  Her office says she will schedule with us on a later date.
