UPDATE: Second East Carroll escapee in custody

UPDATE: (KNOE 8 News) - The second man who escaped from the Riverbend Detention Center last weekend has been caught.

Calvin Wright, 40, was found riding a stolen bike toward West Carroll Parish.

He and the other escapee, James Gunter, are now both in custody in East Carroll.

LAKE PROVIDENCE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - East Carroll Sheriff Officials confirm that James Gunter has been captured in the city limits of Lake Providence. 

Officials say that the Public Corrections Chase Team on the way to East Carroll Parish to help in the search of Calvin Wright. 

Gunter was captured at his grandmother's house.  She called and turned him in.

LAKE PROVIDENCE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - Two men have escaped from the Riverbend Detention Center in East Carroll Parish.

East Carroll Parish Sheriff's Office have identified the men as Calvin Wright, 40, a white male about 5'11" 155 pounds with brown hair and eyes, and James Wesley Gunter, 29, a white male about 5'8" 140 pounds.

According to Major Columbus Willis tells KNOE that the men escaped the detention center around 10 AM Sunday.

Gunter is an inmate out of West Carroll, and Wright is from the Shreveport/Bossier City area.

East and West Carroll Parishes, along with Lake Providence Police, Wildlife and Fisheries, and State Police are all assisting in the search. LSP is attempting to provide air support.

If you see either of these men, do not approach, immediately call police.

Major Willis says both men have lengthy criminal histories. Wright's include drug and weapons charges, most recently carrying a concealed weapon. Gunter also has faced drug charges, along with parole violations, simple battery, and sexual battery.
