FARMERVILLE, La. (KNOE 8 News & UPSO) - A Farmerville man has been booked into the Union Parish Detention Center for indecent behavior with a juvenile.

The sheriff’s office received a complaint that Decarlo Marquez Hill, 28, of 710 Martin Luther King St., Farmerville, had acted inappropriately with a 10-year-old girl.

Sheriff Dusty Gates says the alleged incident happened while Hill was left in charge of two children while the mother was in the hospital having another child.

The alleged incident happened in the town of Bernice and police there requested the help of sheriff’s investigators. After an investigation, a warrant was issued for Hill’s arrest. He was arrested Tuesday afternoon without incident on a Farmerville street, Gates said.

Hill’s bond was set at $25,000, but he was on state probation a drug-related conviction. He is being held for probation violation and can’t be bailed.

The sheriff said the young girl reported the incident to her mother and babysitter.
