Trial date moved for former state trooper

MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - Former State Trooper Ronald Thomas will now go on trial November 10th. His case was originally scheduled to start Monday.

Ronald Thomas was arrested in March of last year for payroll fraud, distributing cocaine, malfeasance in office, as well as, after a year long investigation.

Thomas was a Monroe based state trooper who worked with the bureau of investigations. He faces 90-years in prison and more than $70,000 dollars in fines if convicted.
