Man arrested: accused of beating & holding wife hostage

UPDATE: (Monroe Police Dept. ) - On 06-16-14 at approximately 5:00 AM, Monroe Police responded to a reported Domestic Violence/Abduction that occurred in the 3200 Blk. of Alabama St. Investigation revealed that Marcus Drumgole battered his wife at their home located in the 100 Blk. of Forrest Ave. The wife left the residence and went to her cousins home located in the 3200 Blk. of Alabama St. Drumgole is alleged to have followed the wife to this location and forced his way into this home and forcibly removed the wife from this location while continuing to batter her. Monroe Police were notified and began a search of the area to include the Forrest Ave. location. Police were able to ascertain Drumgole’s location at the Forrest Ave. location through electronic investigative means. Monroe Police SWAT, negotiators, and emergency response personnel were notified and established a perimeter at this location. Numerous attempts were made to establish contact with occupants of the residence without success. At approximately 9:20 AM, Monroe Police SWAT conducted a forced entry into the residence, arrested Drumgole and rescued the wife from a back room. No one was injured during the entry of the residence. The wife was transported by hospital by ambulance for serious head and facial wounds that are alleged to have been committed by Drumgole. Drumgole has been arrested and booked at OCC for Battery and 2d Degree Kidnapping charges. The investigation is continuing.

MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - A Monroe man is accused of taking his wife hostage and severely beating her.

Monroe Police say Marcus Drumgole got into a fight with his wife around 5:00 A.M. Monday at their home on Forrest Avenue. The victim left and went to a house on Alabama Street, where police say Drumgole forced his way in. Ha allegedly beat her again and forced her to leave with him.

Police later found the couple at the Forrest Avenue location where it was determined the victim was being held against her will.

After several attempts to negotiate with the Drumgole, law enforcement forced their way into the residence. Drumgole was arrested and the victim was taken to the hospital. Police say the victim has non-lige threatening injuries.
