UPDATE: Arrest made in post-party shooting

MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - Monroe Detectives have arrested one person in connection to a weekend shooting on Magnolia Street.

Owunzavius Green, of Monroe, has been arrested for one count of Attempted Second Degree Homicide.

His charges stem from a shooting last week that followed a large party on North 30th Street.

MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - Monroe Police responded to multiple shootings in the area of 400 Magnolia, Superior and Louisville Avenue following a large fight on North 30th Street.

The investigation revealed that a large party was being held on North 30th Street at the Jaycee building. The building was being rented by a private party. A fight occurred among several juveniles and one male juvenile was allegedly struck by another juvenile with an unspecified object.

Monroe Police arrived and stopped the party and ordered all parties to leave to keep order. A short time later, a group of teenagers ranging from 15-19 years old were walking in the area of Superior and Louisville when an unknown person fired several shots towards this group.

Three persons were struck by the gunfire. Two of the victims were adults and one was a juvenile. All of the wounds were described as non-life threatening and all are being treated at local hospitals.

A short time later, another shooting occurred in the 400 Blk. of Magnolia St. which is in close proximity to the first shooting. A male subject was struck one time in the leg while at this location with another group of subjects that had left the Jaycee building. This victims wounds are described as nonlife threatening and he is being treated at a local hospital.

Monroe Detectives have interviewed several witnesses and have developed suspect information about the possible identity of the shooter for both incidents. The investigation is ongoing.

MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) – Four people were shot leaving a birthday party at an event hall on North 30th Street Friday night.

Police say a fight broke out at the Jaycee Hall.

They say one male juvenile hit another male juvenile with a set of brass knuckles.

Police responded to the incident and broke up the party.

While leaving, one group was shot at on the corner of Louisville and Superior. Three people were hit and their status is unknown at this time.

Another group was shot at on Magnolia Street, and one person was hit. His or her status is also unknown at this time.

Police are looking for a suspect and we will have more information as it becomes available.
