Combining travel with education makes learning fun!

I would like to create three new books in the Explore series, covering the rich history of the Eastern United States.

AMSTERDAM - My proposal is to visit New England, New York & The Capital Region, in one trip, lasting twenty-seven days: August 10 – September 05, 2014. Upon return, I will bring this newfound wealth of experience and local knowledge together to create:

Explore New England

From Mark Twain and Plymouth Rock, to Acadia National Park and the Appalachian Trail, these states steward early US and epitomise east coast culture.

Explore New York State

From world class museums and the Statue of Liberty, to the Baseball Hall of Fame and the Adirondacks, this state a vast and special world unto itself with Rip van Winkel and Sleepy Hollow, in the Hudson Valley, being yet one more additional aspect of New York that every child should be exposed to!

Explore The Capital Region

The City of Brotherly Love and Civil War Gettysburg, these states are where the nation’s history was written. Washington D.C., is on the same stage as London and Beijing with what it has to offer. Add to that: Arlington, Mt. Vernon, Monticello, the Shenandoah Valley and Williamsburg and we will have captured the essence of America’s beginnings.

Explore Books summary

This activity book series takes a fun approach to teaching History, Geography, Social Studies, Language and Art by placing them into a ‘travel’ theme. Explore Books presents different cultures, places, events, landmarks and monuments as engaging, interactive activities for kids, ages 6-12. ‘Playful Learning’ is the key.
