Family and friends say goodbye to Forbis girls

Posted: Updated:
RUSTON, La (KNOE 8 News) -Before Adeleen and Laila joined their family and friends for one last goodbye, Ryan Dieck made sure the community knew who they were.

"One tragic bad act like this spurned hundreds of individual, thousands of individual good acts and really did a lot of good for someone who really needs it" said Dieck.

Dieck created a donation page on, when the community learned about the Forbis girl's story, almost forty thousand dollars poured into the account, Dieck hoped it would give the family a bit of peace.

"I hope the family can find peace of mind when it's all said and done because it's permanent" said Dieck.

Three year old Laila and four year old Adeleen Forbis were killed last week.  Today both girls were buried side by side at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, as of this moment, no official cause of death has been released, Dieck has one question he wants answered.
"Why is going to always be that burning question and sometimes you just don't get the answers that you want or you just don't get the answers at all" said Dieck.

After contacting the West Monroe Police Department and coroner's office, a preliminary autopsy hasn't been released, Dieck said he's not giving up on getting answers or helping the family.

"What people don't realize is that there's so many things afterwards to help out the family...I know we're trying to set up grief counseling and someone to just be there for the family because their going to need their time" said Dieck.

Dieck hopes that time will eventually heal the family's wounds.
