BATON ROUGE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - Governor Bobby Jindal has signed a law that would require the LHSAA to seek an independent arbitrator to decide on eligibility issues.

Senator Dan Claitor wrote the bill after a refugee student was denied the right to play high school sports because of his age.

LHSAA has said that if the bill was put into law that it could shut down high school sports in Louisiana.
