Rodney Alexander steps down as Veteran Affairs Director

BATON ROUGE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - Rodney Alexander has stepped down as the state's leader of the Veteran's Administration.

Gov. Bobby Jindal said, “I am sorry to see Secretary Alexander step down from his post. Rodney has dedicated his life to public service. He has served our state with honor and integrity, and I wish him all the best in his future endeavors"

Jindal appointed David LaCerte to serve as Secretary of the Louisiana Department of Veterans Affairs (LDVA).

Former Deputy Secretary David LaCerte said, “Rodney has been a strong advocate for our veterans and I am very sorry to see him go. I am excited to build on our momentum from recent years and make a great Louisiana Department of Veterans Affairs even better for our veterans, service members, and their families.”

The appointment of David LaCerte as Secretary of the Louisiana Department of Veterans Affairs is effective immediately.
