LAKE CHARLES, La. (AP) - Calcasieu Parish sheriff's deputies say an inmate who walked off his litter detail in DeQuincy is back in jail.

The sheriff's office says 34-year-old Shane Hilton, considered a trusty, was arrested Friday morning at a mobile home park in Westlake.

When deputies arrived at the park, they found Hilton sitting in a truck he allegedly stole Thursday evening.  He was taken into custody after a brief struggle.

Hilton fled at about 2:30 p.m. Thursday from his detail along Marcantel Road and Highway 27.

Hilton was booked with simple escape, theft of a motor vehicle, and resisting arrest.

Hilton was first arrested on April 6 and booked with contempt of court. He is also facing a theft charge.
