UNION PARISH, La. (KNOE 8 News) - A Downsville mom is booked in the Union Parish Detention Center accused of driving while intoxicated with child endangerment.

Ashley Wren Wilkerson, 30, of Foster Road., was stopped by a Farmerville police officer who radioed the sheriff’s office for assistance. Farmerville police had received a call that a possible DWI was spotted on Highway 33 south. The officer, after observing the car crossing the center line and swerving back into the right hand lane and then crossing the fog line, stopped the driver.

A sheriff’s deputy assisted and stated that the suspect spelled of alcoholic beverages and admitted to drinking four, 16-ounce beers between 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. Wednesday.

She was also charged with no driver’s license and improper lane use. Her bond on the DWI was set at $2,000.

Wilkerson’s 22-month-old daughter was placed in the care of Louisiana Child Protective Services.
