Posted: Updated:
TALLULAH, La. (KNOE 8 News)- Veterans from across the Arklamiss gathered in Tallulah for Memorial Day, to remember and reflect on those that were lost in the line of duty.

Sgt. Joe Malone, a 22 year veteran of the Army, salutes the men and women who were killed in the Vietnam War. The same war he was a year and six months shy of fighting in.

Instead he served in Desert Storm and is proud of it.

Veterans from Grambling, Bastrop, Winnsboro and from other surrounding areas share the same feelings about Memorial Day.

Honoring those that have fallen wearing a uniform, because they realize that it could have been them caught in the line of fire.

American Legion Posts from around the Arklamiss were also recruiting military veterans who weren't members of a Legion to become members of their local post.
