Suspect faces drug charges, 3rd arrest this year

MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - Friday night, police arrested a Monroe man for possession on cocaine during a traffic investigation.

Olandius "OC" Hicks, 37, is facing five different charge after an investigation Friday night. Monroe Police were investigating a hit and run report at I-20 and US 165 that led to the identification of Olandius Hicks as a suspect. 

Police made contact with Hicks regarding this incident. During the course of the investigation, officers observed Hicks attempt to hide suspected Marijuana. Hicks was taken into custody and also found to have suspected Cocaine in his possession that is estimated to have a street value of approximately $3,500.

Hicks was arrested and booked into OCC for following a vehicle, hit and run, suspended license, possession of marijuana and possession with intent to distribute cocaine. Bond is set at a total of $14,150.

Hicks was arrested two months ago for similar charges:  Possession of CDS schedule 1, Felony Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance Schedule II, Possession with intent CDS-II, Expired license tag, Misdemeanor Operating Vehicle with Suspended License.
