Keeping Kids Safe program stops by Hixson Ford

MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - Everything from gymnastics mats to a fingerprinting booth is set up at Hixson Ford for a two-day safety event.

Power House Tumble and Cheer gave kids the chance to flip safely today, and taught children how to stay safe when they tumble at home.

D.A.R.E. had a booth set up, along with the Fire Department's Safety House trailer.

The Sheriff's Office was providing free fingerprinting for children. Parents got to take home a copy of their child's fingerprints and current picture for safe keeping.

"The parents take it home put all the information on it," says Buddy Ford, "God forbid they ever need it, it's got all their information and current fingerprints."

The safety program will be back in action tomorrow at Hixson Ford from 10am to 4pm Saturday.
