#MonroeLaIsHappy Smothered Porkchops

#MonroeLaIsHappy Smothered Pork chops prepared by Chef Darrell Teats. A delicious savory meal and very GOOD food for the soul. In honor of Happy Week celebrated in Monroe, La cook this meal for your loved ones.

4 center cut pork chops
1 cup veg. oil
1 cup flour
Tony's seasoning
Garlic salt
Salt & pepper
1 small onion (sliced)

Wash chops and season to taste with Tonys and garlic salt. In separate dish, mix flour and 1/4 tsp of Tony's. Heat oil in skillet to 350 degrees. Coat chops in flour mixture and shake off excess flour. Place in heated oil and brown on both sides about 6-8 min per side. Remove from oil. Drain oil saving about 3-4 Tbsp in skillet. Add onion slices( separate in rings). Add 2-3 Tbsp flour, season with salt and pepper, lightly brown, stirring constantly. Slowly adding water, continue to stir, reduce heat after mixture starts to thicken. Place cooked chops in gravy. Cover and simmer for 5 -10 min. Serve over rice or with mashed potatoes.
